Confessing Faith

An action that professes what Chistians believe about God and God’s relationships with creation (especially the complex relationship with human beings), the church history, God’s continuing presence, etc. Examples of formal (denominationally or church approved) confessions of faith include the Apostles Creed, various Mennonite Confessions of Faith, or the Shared Convictions of Mennonite World Conference. Informal confessions of faith are usually more personal in nature and claim what a person or community believes to be trustworthy about their relationship with God.
