Lectionary Year A

A set of designated scripture for each Sunday (special celebrations) developed by liturgical churches, which is followed by many denominations. It consists of an Old Testament (Hebrew scripture), Psalm, Epistle, and Gospel biblical texts for the Christian Year.  The Gospel readings of the Revised Common Lectionary - Year A - draw heavily from the gospel of Matthew. Year A is followed every third year (2022, 2025, 2028, 2031, etc.) starting with the first Sunday in Advent.
